Maidstone I remember it well: Peter the pie shop was called Stevens & Sturt,The son of Mr Stevens was Peter & he went on to make pies himself. I don't know where he is now.I have often wondered if the vans going around called Peters pies are anything to do with him would be interested to know if any old Maidstonians know.
You know as soon as someone reminds me I think of course it was thanks for that Freddie hope businesss is good with you. Pete
The people who ran the Pie shop went on to run The Bridge Hotel on broadway their son put a pusting on MIRIW since I took it over. Les

Whilst working at Vivish & Baker in George Yard, which was also a shortcut to Gabriel's Hill, there was at the bottom near the Hill entrance there was a small unit where a chap named Peter made pies. Could this be the same Peter?

No Lea, it went from King Street to Gabriel's Hill and the unit was towards the Gabriel's Hill end opposite the derelect site near Sharps the Gents Outfitters. Also in George Yard there was a workshop making metal ducting and things like that and Haynes Bros had a lawn mower servicing and repair workshop.
