Maidstone I remember it well:
Just read through some random entries on the site. Lots of memories, especially through the sixties and early seventies.Reminders of the teachers at Vinters boys (62 - 67) "Pop" Graham,"Taffy" Mathias (who threw a blackboard rubber the full length of the room at my mate Trevor Adams, and hit him)
The same Trevor Adams who was sent home in the middle of assembly by Read and to come back when he had had his hair cut.The Small Faces had a lot to answer for.Huggins (metalwork) Judge (woodwork, I've still got my teapot stand somewhere).
Messrs Robinson R & Q and what did "HORSA" playground mean? Miss Hollingsworth at the baths (She did appear in Health and Efficiency you know)Lets move on quickly.
Saturday morning pictures, either a Granada Grenadier or an ABC Minor.First proper gig I went to,with my mum and dad,was Helen Shapiro,Jet Harris and Tony Meehan at the Granada about 1961.
Lots of good and not so good local bands in the youth club era at the Howard De Walden,The Wesley,Shepway Manor. The Web Foundation,The Way,Mood Reaction all good,Erks Werks, not so good.Good dances also at the Corn Exchange even with its fluorescent lighting.Later on the G Ranch and the Savoy at snodland. Message for Joyce Masters (nee Hilt),How is Dudley.Didn't he marry Angela Povey?I am sure he remembers a caravan holiday in Bournemouth in 1968.12 - 14 of us.
Moggsy,Steve and Dave Vince,John Russell,Broders,Herbie Craddock. All a bit of a ramble I know, but as the Likely Lads theme tune says,"the only thing to look forward to is the past"
