Maidstone I remember it well:
When I was a teenager and used to bike out to The Priories and do some charcoal drawings of the lovely old buildings. I bought a hand thrown casserole and
lid and, like Rene, I still have it; it survived 10 moves over 7 decades.

Maidstone I remember it well:
I lived in Maidstone until 1969, when we moved to New Zealand. Not long after we arrived I literally bumped into Rene and Joan Newman at a butcher's shop
in Newmarket, Auckland. We were neighbours in Hampshire Drive and I baby sat for their son Barry.
I went to Maidstone Girls' Grammar - doesn't look as though anyone else on this site went there? Miss Barnes was the principal.
I went with my friends on many a Friday evening to the jazz club, I wonder if it is still there. In 1997 Mike and I visited Maidstone but couldn't find anywhere to park the car, so went to the Spotted Cow at Larkfield to calm down.
When Mike and I married in 1966 we lived in a furnished house in Loose Road for 6 months and then moved into a brand new police house in Lansdowne Avenue - I believe they have all been pulled down now. regards to any of my old friends in Maidstone who may be reading this.
Maidstone I remember it well: Hey, I am Posyanne's sister, although she is called Anne now. My maiden name is Benoy and I would love to hear from any of my old friends. I went to St Michael and All Angels' church, which had a lively youth club and after Sunday evensong we all used to walk down to St Francis church, which ran a weekly social/dance session, overseen by the
brothers.
