Maidstone I remember it well: I used to live in the mid 60s at 130 Marion Crescent where the neighbours were, at 132 the Adams family, at 128 it was at first the Gomershalls who emigrated to S. Africa, and then the Jones family, at 126 it was the Thompsons and then the Wallers, and at 124 the Cotton family. At 134 or 136?, it was a lovely Asian family the Menzies. Mother and Father would spend a weekend night dancing at the "Manor club" on the green at Shepway near the One and Only pub with some of these people. Would love to hear from any of these families or what happened to them

Maidstone I remember it well: My first secondary school was south borough school for girls from 1976/1978,head mistress at the time was Miss Chadwick, hated her what a witch she was always had it in for me and a couple of friends. Sylvia Turgoose was one of them, she got some stick with that name to and Tracy Scott. hope you see this one day and remember what fun we had.in 1978 my mum moved house so I had to change schools, wasn't happy about that but glad to be away from that Chadwick woman. My next school was vinters school for girls. I also hated the bogey green uniform, but we got to wear black in our last year so that wasn't to bad. I also remember Miss Dyke and Miss Brett they were a couple of old ladys and I also think they were having it off we all used to say it, mMss Brett died in my 4th year but no comment on that. I lived in wyatt st right outside the school so did run home and skive a lot,it was handy living so near, been trying to find Sophie Armstrong /Mandy Savage/Jackie Nunn.has any one else heard of them.we had loads of fun at school, vinters boys was down the road so we loved going to the playing fields for p.e. wouldn't go back and do it again tho.

Hi all, I am new here and I was hoping if anyone is able to help. A friend of mine is tracing her family tree and we have been trying to find old pictures of the Bull Inn at Peneden Heath as one of her ancestors Rague Petitt ran the pub as did his father. I have googled and had no luck. Is anyone able to help? Thank you in advance. Emily

David Bawden Maidstone I remember it well: I saw an earlier message from someone who was in the US Air Force stationed at the RAF site in Detling. I was there at the time and one of my good friends was Bill White (USAF), Married a girl from Detling by the name of Sandy. I know Bill moved back to the US and I heard from him once, but that was years ago. To the person who posted that message earlier, let me know if you knew him and whether you are in touch? To Wayne who added this entry:- Maidstone I remember it well: I arrived in the UK in May 1963...I was in the USAF Stationed at ColdBlow RAF Station near Detling. Do you remember Lansberger and Bill White, and there was an Hawaiian guy stationed there. don't remember the Sgt. Would be interesting in hearing from you.

Brian Hampshire worked for the GPO / BT. Moved to somewhere in Devon probably around 1980 / 85. I met him once at a meeting or seminar. We intended to keep in touch through the company directory, but guess both too busy. His sister Pauline, was in the Maidstone area. Don't know her married name, but bumped into her at an event about 10 years ago.
