Maidstone I remember it well: To David Wilkins,I also remember the gypsy caravan that you refer to in the Willington woods at the junction with the Otham turnoff.As kids walking through the woods finding a gypsy van meant we didn'hang about but then one day the caravan door opened and a man spotted us,needless to say we legged it.It sounds like we grew up exploring the same areas around Shepway.In the late fifties it was a great place to grow up.I remember some of the old buildings on the fringe that were waiting to be demolished such as the original old blue door pub and an adjacent pair of farm cottages.I also remember a cottage with a well in the back garden on the site of what was to be Munns newspaper shop now the Willington street post office.Ah what memories

Do you remember Munns newspapers shop on Park Wood ,Was just a shed on the end of Walis Ave.
