I was born in the WKGH in 1947 and for the first years of my life lived with my gradparents Mr and Mrs Boorman at 12 Brewer St, near the working men's club. I remember the coal cellar and the side alley. I returned a few years ago and the house was for sale. I rang the bell but received no answer

Peter Capon Maidstone I remember it well: To Christine Wright; I was born in Brewer Street at no. 61 later moving to the shop at no. 63 (you may have read from the beginning of MIRIW. Later we moved to Sheals Crescent where the traffic moved in two directions and people with cars could park in the road. Somehow seems to narrow now doesn't it. While attending a business studies course at Maidstone Technical College I worked weekends and holidays in Lyons Tea Shop that you mention. Many memories some good some bad but I do remember that anyone that owned a car was doing pretty well for themselves.
