Maidstone I remember it well: Re: Richard Emery in Australia. I remember Emerys forge so well that I can smell it right now!!! My dad worked for your lovely father. His name was Stan Wyles. I loved your dad. He used to let us all go on his boat moored at Allington. He was always friendly and I know my dad thought a lot of him. Anyone else remember my dad?
Maidstone I remember it well: Can anyone remember what the Larkfield Hotel was called in the 1970 s? We used to go dancing there but it wasn't called the Larkfield Priory Hotel like it is now.

Maidstone I remember it well: The Hunting Lodge!!! Well done. Thanks for that. It was driving me mad. Lol. I've had a great evening reading all these entries. Bringing back sooo many memories. As I said,my dad was a blacksmith in Jack Emerys forge in Brunswick Street. I'd love to hear from anyone who knew him. I remember Smiths fish and chips and Frouds. The doss house in Stone Street,St Phillips school,South Borough. Also I think Christine Thayer was my English teacher. Dear Miss Horsefield,I was sad to read she has passed but she taught my mum and two sisters before teaching me!!! Oh I could fill these pages so maybe I'll come back and do just that.
