United Kingdom Maidstone I remember it well: I certainly do and I can remember getting on a trolley bus outside the pub in the High Street and going home to Tovil where I was born in 1940. I lived in Church Street until after the war when we moved to Shepway Estate. can anyone remember how many pubs there were in Week Street alone from the"Wig & Pen" down to the "Gin Palce" as my mum and da called it - now HSBC bank. Many memories of old Tovil, but never found the treacle mines!!
