Maidstone I remember it well: Hi Angela. That's a very big ask. Several things may have happened that could affect your enquiry. Obviously you need to know either or the mothers maiden or married name. The actual day of the birth. Where the baby was born ie. home or hospital or maybe a childrens home. This could affect where any records may be kept. It is possible because of the sad loss at a day old the baby might not have been registered, especially as it was in war time. I lost a child 40 years ago at birth and we were given the opportunity to register the birth which my wife and I never did, something I have always regretted. So as you can see there is a lot to need to know. All birth records are now kept at Kew at the G.R.O. A last thought is the local parish records or family that may still be around. Hope that might be of some help. Contact me on terrymckenna178@btinternet.com if you need any more info.
