Maidstone I remember it well: I used to work in Bradfords Fishmongers in Earl St 3 evenings after school and all day Saturday. I got £1 and 10 shillings a week. I remember old Mr Bradford (Jack) used to sit in a little office at the back with his secretary. His son John Bradford worked on the shop floor. I remember someone called Ron who did most of the fish gutting and filleting. I remember visiting the fish smoking site where we smoked the Bloaters (Herring) and whole haddock split open. It was freezing in the winter. Looking at Google earth I think it is now a florists although Bradford's is still listed there in business directories online. Does anyone know what happened to it? I have been trying to obtain some photos of it on EBay. I worked there around 1967/8.
