Maidstone I remember it well: I did ask this question before some time ago but thought I'd try again to see if I get a few more replies. My father was Dr. Alan Warren who had his surgery on Loose road through 40s/50s and 60s. His 3 brothers were also Drs in Maidstone (Uncle Bill, Uncle George and Uncle Harry) through a similar time. My Grandfather was also a Dr at the top of Rocky Hill (Brosely House on the right - now gone) Any memories out there ? Have we ever thought about putting this site on Facebook ?

My GP from birth almost until I left the town to study in Birmingham was Dr Allan Warren. He was always kind and supportive and kept the family healthy. He was a lovely man. I remember him well and ten years or so later I served him when he popped into the off-licence at The Swan at Loose where I was working in the evenings. The first time that happened he took one look at me and, without any hesitation, said “Hello Leslie, how are you mother and father?” Doctors in those days knew their patients and their families and their medical histories.
