Maidstone I remember it well: Hello Phil, yes you are the same as l thought, you see l remembered your new Volks but l almost put that it was a KO registration too. The last time l saw you was at the Standard office, you only entered the sliding door, spoke to Dudley and shot off, very smart with a round neck T shirt, light grey 2 piece suit l think too, l can almost see you there in my mind now. I was sitting on the long bench at the side of the Bush machine. My memory is still vivid regarding many things, was it you that was lighting a fag up when turning off of Tonbridge road with your arm inside the steering wheel and hit the wall??, and who was it that tore off the rear wheel of the mini van on the roundabout after the Kent Messenger bridge?.
Les was a nurse at the Barming Hospital l think and he was there when the paper seller "Yorkie" cut his wrists when we had no work for him one Saturday afternoon. Frank Smith l remember as l do you, he arrived one Saturday afternoon with a new Brown 3 piece suit straight from Burtons
chocolate brown it was and bright red lining, step cut trousers and so many pockets, as he was ginger his face reddened up quickly also when he was the butt of jokes, but a nice guy and like you was 'respected', as was most of the guys there by the young paper lads on their bikes. What about Charlie Sinclair l think his name was, did you know him?, and Ron Hodges too or his Brother Ken?, Mac l know you remember well.
If you see Rodney Davis then Please do give him my best wishes, if you have a private email l can send you a photo from around that time but l think you will not remember me, unless you remember that l was burnt in a fire at Folkestone and was in the office bandaged up for a while?, Thanks for the message Phil, Take care
