The canon came from Russia from the Crimean War. if you know the poem the charge of the light brigade it sound like a loosing battle but the charge draw out where the Russian Canons were and the Heavy brigade went in and knowing where the canons were wipe them out. the light brigade were led my Captain Louis Nolan here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Nolan and a statue to him has been put up near the Trinity forum formal the trinity church in church street here www.kentonline.co.uk/kent_messenger/news/2012/may/29/first_sight_of_new_statue_for.aspxthe canon is in storage until the High streets been revamped Since then it was returned painted blue.that was the original colour but people said they wanted it black so it is now Black again.
