Midnight in Paris! 1d turnstile for the loos in M&D bus stations- they were grotty! Every Sunday,the Cockel and shrimp man called round with his ice box on wheels ....? A pint? Walls ice cream man too, with his ice cart, square ice creams and cornets.
Red telephone boxes. A to get through B for a refund!
Howard de Warden and Manor youth clubs. Disco at the Star, mornings and afternoons if too young for the evening.
Throwing school books into the river from the bridge on last day of school!!! Get arrested now!
To the beach, very few there, inner tubes for rubber rings. Room for 20+ to play beach cricket. Prima stoves(?) in an old biscuit tin to cook bacon sarnies on the beach.
Jumpers for goal posts and rounder's bases.
Party time...homemade birthday cakes, jelly, blancmange, sandwiches cut into 1/4s. Iced biscuits,golden wonder and smiths crisps with optional salt!
Blind man's buff, musical chairs, Simon says, pin tail on donkey, pass the parcel, knock knock, then go home with a piece of birthday cake and a balloon!
Twin sets, American tan tights, first knee length black boots, mod macs, leather and suede coats/jackets,brown suede hush puppies, hot pants, swimming hats with tight straps under the chin!! Some with flowers on for the older ladies! Wedges and platforms, bell bottoms etc..the FIRST time round! Mohair suits!!
Sooo cool! Westone the men's clothes shop in Gabriel's Hill.
Package holidays, usually to Spain! Top of the Pops Thursday evenings? Radio Luxembourg Sunday eve the top ten/20. Radio Caroline, Radio One, Hawaii 5 O, Miami Vice, perhaps we here are getting too modern now?

Yes magic times and we've all seen lots of changes over the years. Innocent times, yet breaking free from the war years and changing youth for ever! Spit the brush mascara, pan stick and Gibbs toothpaste powder in tins! Lol!
