Terry McKenna
Maidstone I remember it well: Jimmy James: Well well a very long time no hear: How are you my friend? Jim Hardwood (as you called him!!) did mention to me that he saw you occasionally and i think he said you live in Bearsted!! I met NDS and Angela a couple of years ago and he still looks the same (really annoying that!!). I think I have asked before if anyone from G.H. is still around and next time you hear of a reunion please let me know. My hair grows at a pace everywhere except on my head!! Last time I was in Maidstone was sadly for my late and best ever friend Trevor Miles funeral in 2011 (he lived opposite out shop in Holland Road). I have known Jim Year Wood!! since we were at St Francis primary school and he and his Mom lived in Wheeler Street in the mid 1950's. Blimey just writing that makes me feel really old. My own sporting days are long gone and the ravages of time have not been that good to me. Of course I'm STILL devilishly handsome and smooth tongued!! Valentines day is due soon so I better start writing some cards to myself: lol Jim my email is terrymckenna178@btinternet.com Skype is terry.sean.mckenna I may be passing through Maidstone in April en route to Peter Capon's home and also visiting a soon to be 85 years young lady and her 83 year old sister in Cliftonville. These two ladies are the daughters of the lady my BIRTH mother brought me and her to London from Scotland in 1949 (when!!) to work for and live in. If you email me i'll send you on line the little book i wrote of my early life and subsequent adoption by the McKenna's in 1954. Yes I do know a lot of people even after all this time living in Bristol (well over 40 years now!!). Of course my Mum and Dad with the bakery and shop: Elder brother Michael was Top Mod in Maidstone (look earlier on this page at photo): Dad and his politics and eventually becoming Mayor of Maidstone 1983/4 and my own footballing prowess (well I'll say it if nobody else does!!). The Godfrey Holmes days were great too and the likes of yourself: Martin Roberts: The late Micky (Noddy) Holder: The original J. R. The lovely Joyce who did the stock records: NDS and the other Nigel, Chillingworth, who lives in Ireland and others were a good team. Didn't G.H. get taken over by GKN and then Kerry Partco? Look forward to your reply. I wish you and your family well. Terry Mac.
