1605 Sir John Sedley took om his Brothers wish from his will to build house to house 6 aged persons thar were poor, and inpototent.
This was to be built in the street of if a convenient quantity of land adjoining may be Purchased for that purpose ,or in another
in the parish that my executor should think fit.
My brother William Sedley and his heirs placing within push poor persons as they shall think fit and always providingbe able to read prays to the residue,Morning and Everning.
Three score and Ten pounds to be continued for ever.
£76,000 per year was tp be earned from 200 acres of farm land that had been put aside for yhe Maintance of the Hosepital.
Patrick Davage was elected as warden when it opened.

In his will he left the farm to his nephew,
Then relicensing that John Sedley's will ,money from it should be payed to charity ,but could pay the arrears on the rent.
The Charity was able to pay for the running of the Hospital.
The Court of Chancery in 1842 drew up a plan for the Hospital to re-established.
Tomas Romson had tried for 17 year to recover the Will an deeds from the 1600s
this led to 6 inmates given places when it had been refurbished in 1865.
Ann Brassey of Preston hall in 1892 provided a new wing for 4 more people.
This was in Memory of her husband Henery Arther Brassey ,he had left £2.800 worth of stock to the trustees who were the Vicar
and Church wardens plus 4 others.
n 1962 it was refurbished adding bathroom there were 15 accommodations
The Chapel was no lomger used but became a meeting room where trustee meetings and
tea parties took place.In this room Is a picture of Sir Johm Sedley's tomb at in Southfleet Church.
lands at Yalding and Paddock Wood provided funds as the Fritterden farm land had been sold,
